Italian Style Flat Iron Steak with Broccoli

Ingredients and Supplies:
For the steak:
o 2 (225 grams) certified Piedmontese flat iron steaks
o Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
o Olive oil, to taste
For the vegetables:
o 1 head broccolini, broccoli raab or broccoli
o 3 cloves of garlic, sliced
o ½ teaspoon finely chopped Calabrese chili*
o 1 tablespoon pine nuts
o 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
o 1 teaspoon fresh parsley, finely chopped
o 2 tablespoons shaved Parmesan cheese
*Calabrese chilies come from the Calabria region of Italy and add depth and spiciness to recipes; they are also quite salty, so always add to taste.

preparation
1. Season each steak with olive oil, salt and pepper and set aside.
2. Preheat your BBQ Grill to medium-high. Add the flat iron steaks and cook until golden brown on both sides and medium-rare (about 3 minutes per side). Set the steaks aside to rest.
3. Place the broccolini in a vegetable basket on the grill and cook until golden brown and crispy.
4. Add the garlic, pine nuts and Calabrese chili to the vegetable basket and cook for a further 2 minutes.
5. Add the lemon juice and parsley and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
Serve alongside the steak and enjoy the delicious flavours!
